Press it, and it gives
Press a seat and it sinks under your hand, then slowly rises like memory foam. Firm, medium and soft fills each give in their own way.

Concept project
A real-time configurator for a premium modular sofa. Build it from a layout or block by block, dress it in six fabrics, then come close enough to see the weave and press the cushions.
Live in your browser, not a video. Opens in a new tab, in English or Polish, and sets its quality to your device.
The Kanapa brand, its fabrics and its prices are made up; we created them to show the work. Prices are illustrative, nothing is sold, and “Request a quote” sends nothing.

The challenge
People choose a sofa by touch. They sit on it, run a hand over the fabric and check the seams. Online, all they get is a photo of one layout in one cover.
A modular range is worse still. It has dozens of layouts, six covers and many colours, and no shoot can show them all. Kanapa lets the shopper build the sofa and then look at it closely.
The approach
We started with what a shopper checks in a showroom. Fabrics are made from real scans, so a bouclé reads as loops and a linen shows its slubs. A welt runs along every seam, and a cushion gives under the hand and slowly rises again.
Every sofa is built from one modular system: seat blocks, arms, bolsters and back cushions on a 250 mm grid. Rules decide what may sit where, so every layout a shopper makes is one the maker could build.
The catalog is data, kept apart from the scene. A maker’s own modules, fabrics, colours and price groups are a data change, which is what makes the configurator white-label.
The studio stays quiet so the sofa can lead: a white room that surrounds it, a camera that orbits it and glides between chosen views, one panel on a laptop and one sheet on a phone.
Press a seat and it sinks under your hand, then slowly rises like memory foam. Firm, medium and soft fills each give in their own way.

A chenille jacquard, a bouclé, a linen blend, a velvet, a wool and a semi-aniline leather. Each cover has six or seven colours, and every swatch is cut from the fabric itself.

Add, move and turn seat blocks on the floor, and choose what runs along each edge: a bolster, an arm or nothing. A move that would make a sofa no one could build is refused.

“Start configuring” asks about the shape, the cover, the colour, the fill, the edges and the cushions in turn. The summary lists every choice with a way back to change it.
Two-seat and three-seat sofas, corners, chaises and two islands, with an ottoman on any of them. Each one is a starting point you can rearrange.
Four short steps bring the camera close: the weave, the seams, a cushion to press and a welt in a contrast tone.
The estimate moves with every block, cover, colour, fill and welt, with the lead time beside it. The quote lists each piece and its price.
Every sofa, even one arranged by hand, has a link that opens it again just as it was, in the same language.
Kanapa picks a quality level for each device and steps down if it starts to struggle. On a phone the panel becomes one sheet, and when nothing moves, the studio stops drawing.

Kanapa is about sofas, but its parts are general: a kit of modules and the rules between them, fabrics that hold up at a hand’s width, a catalog that is data and a live price with a lead time.
Swap the sofa for beds, wardrobes or kitchen units: the system carries over, and we model your range to match. Tell us what you make, and we will show you what it would take.
